Course objectives

  • To identify the specific robotic platform components, settings, and features required to safely use and operate the robotic surgical platform
  • To understand the proper robotic platform pre operative set-up for pancreatic surgery
  • To define the role of robotics in current pancreatic surgery practice
  • To appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of the evidence- based practice in this emerging field
  • To provide hands-on sessions to improve skills in robotic surgery through practice on anatomical specimens under expert tutorial

Target audience

This course is intended for general surgeons, digestive surgeons, HBP surgeons, fellows and residents in training

Educational methods

  • Lectures and pre-recorded operative demonstrations with interactive discussions between participants and faculty members
  • Video-based discussion sessions with Q&A
  • Training on anatomical specimens on technical platform with robotic systems
