Basic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Course
Diagnostic and therapeutic approachThe course on basic digestive endoscopy is intended to provide the knowledge required to perform a highquality
endoscopic exploration of the upper, mid and lower gastrointestinal tract in different clinical scenarios.
The practical sessions in the dry lab, and with ex vivo animal models and live tissue will provide the trainees with a full immersion experience in endoscope manipulation to improve hand-eye coordination.
This is a unique opportunity to train the basic therapeutic techniques, such as hemostasis and polypectomy.

Course objectives
- To provide the basic knowledge required for the safe use of gastrointestinal endoscopy
- To describe all technical and physiological principles of gastrointestinal endoscopy
- To critically review the most common endoscopic procedures
- To learn or improve endoscopic skills by repeatedly handling the endoscope and performing polypectomy, EMR, ESD, and hemostatic procedures
