Professor Jacques Marescaux recently visited the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters in Geneva. He participated in a high-level meeting dedicated to an ambitious collaborative project bringing together the WHO, the SRS, and the nine IRCAD centers: the “WHO-SRS-IRCAD Telesurgery Hub.”
This initiative aims to promote global healthcare equity in access to surgical treatment through the development of telesurgery platforms worldwide.
It also represents a significant new step in continuity with the Lindbergh Operation, the historic 2001 procedure conducted by IRCAD between New York and Strasbourg, which marked the world’s first transatlantic telesurgery operation.

We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars. Thus, a PCR test without vaccination is no longer sufficient to take part in our courses.
