During the 47th National Congress of Surgery in Tunis, Professor Jacques Marescaux received two prestigious awards.
The first one was presented by the Chairman and General Director of Habib Thameur University Hospital, where he spent 18 months as a surgical resident 52 years ago, in what was then North Africa’s largest cardiac surgery department. A particularly emotional moment, bringing back memories of the early years of his surgical career.
He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his contributions to surgical innovation, education, and minimally invasive surgery worldwide.
