The IRCAD and the INSERM strengthen their scientific cooperation

Last November 30, 2009, Professor Jacques Marescaux, Founding Father and President of the IRCAD and Professor Andre Syrota, Chief Director and President of the INSERM, signed an agreement protocol regarding the scientific cooperation between the IRCAD and the INSERM.

On September 23, 2009, the R&D in computer-assisted surgery team led by Professor Luc Soler was awarded the first prize of the Best Biomedical Visualization Competition for the second consecutive year at the International Conference for the Treatment of Medical Images and Computer-Assisted Interventions (MICCAI) in London, UK.

Antoni de Gimbernat Award 2008

Wednesday the 1st of October 2008, Professor Jacques Marescaux, President of the IRCAD, was awarded the prestigious Antoni de Gimbernat prize by Professor Antonio Sitges-Serra, President of the Spanish Surgery Society. The prize, awarded on a yearly basis since 1963, is the highest distinction delivered in Spain to eminent members of the international surgical community.
