IRCAD is a key partner and host for the major European collaborative project, “Forget Diabetes.” Funded by the European Commission (Horizon 2020 program) and led by the University of Padova (UNIPD) and Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna (SSSA), the project aims to revolutionize blood glucose regulation.
This groundbreaking initiative is developing an innovative, automatic device that integrates miniaturized electronics, intelligent software, and mechatronics. The system includes an implanted insulin pump, an intravenous real-time glucose sensor, and a magnetically guided capsule for oral recharging.
IRCAD is crucial to the project’s success. Utilizing its multidisciplinary expertise and GLP-compliant experimental labs, IRCAD provides the scientific guidance, experimental protocol, and interventional procedures necessary to validate this advanced technology.
This effort highlights the vital progress achieved through European collaborative research in medical innovation.

We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars. Thus, a PCR test without vaccination is no longer sufficient to take part in our courses.
