Prof. Jacques Marescaux recently had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Stefan Rehbein, Senior Vice President of Global Research & Development at Karl Storz Endoskope, for his inaugural visit to IRCAD Africa in Kigali. This visit aimed to explore the potential establishment of an artificial intelligence team within the institute.
The trip also provided an opportunity to engage in several high-level discussions with key representatives and stakeholders, including:

– Mr. Peter Primus, Advisor, Embassy of Germany in Rwanda

– Prof. Dr. Sam Yala, President of the AIMS Network and President of AIMS Rwanda
Prof. Marescaux once again expressed his admiration for Rwanda’s energy, organization, and forward-thinking approach to innovation.

We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars. Thus, a PCR test without vaccination is no longer sufficient to take part in our courses.
