International event, “The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2014” have doubly awarded “Les Haras” in the EUROPE and WORLD categories during an official ceremony which was held in London on September 25, 2014.
The National Academy of Surgery aims to promote minimally invasive surgery with the support of the IRCAD. In this respect, two scholarships and an award will be implemented from 2014 onwards.
The IRCAD celebrated its 20th birthday at the “Brasserie des Haras” with great fanfare and music on July 12, 2014. The party was a true success and unravelled on the theme of “One world, 3 IRCADs”.
On Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Professor Jacques Marescaux was awarded the “Medal of Diplomatic Friendship” by Mr David Lin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China – Taiwan. The ceremony took place in one of the grand Salons of Taipei’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
On January 30, 2014, Professor Jacques Marescaux welcomed François Hollande, President of France at IRCAD to show him around the facilities dedicated to minimally invasive robotic surgical platforms and the “Haras” biocluster.
On January 29, 2014, Professor Jacques Marescaux, president of the IRCAD, and Mr. Cristiano Franzi, President of COVIDIEN Europe, signed a partnership contract at the HARAS BIOCLUSTER, in the presence of local elected officials.

On Thursday April 18, 2013, Professor Jacques Marescaux, President and Founder of the IRCAD, received the Digital Personality of the Year Award. The ceremony took place at the Potocki Hotel of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ile-de-France region), as part of the Digital Technology Award’s 15th edition, organized by Télécom ParisTech.
In 2010, Professor Marescaux led the way receiving an award from the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) for “his surgical career accomplishments”. We would like to draw your attention that the « Vaccine Pass » is now mandatory in France since end of January 2022 and replaces the former « Health Pass » to access places that are open to the public, such as cinemas, museums, cafés and restaurants, hotels as well as the IRCAD Institute which welcomes participants in the framework of its courses and seminars. Thus, a PCR test without vaccination is no longer sufficient to take part in our courses.
